LAKE GEORGE BOOSTERS CLUB OCTOBER 2008 NEWSLETTER

The Fall Party, hosted by Kim & Judy Hamilton, was a big success. Thanks to Kim & Judy and their crew, Ron & Linda Langston, Bob & LuAnn Barklay, Jeff Bringedahl and everyone else who pitched in. Also thanks to Sandy Mann and her crew from the kitchen for the good food, plus all the good cooks who provided dishes for the potluck. I couldn’t stay for the party but I heard there was a LOT of good food and there sure was a lot of noise, which sounded like a good time! It’s good to hear the laughter and watch all the visiting!

The Raffle raised approximately $2250.00 for the Club. Thanks to all the people who donated. The First Prize winner was Jack Hopkins, who picked the black powder rifle, donated by the Lake George Boosters Club. The Second Prize winner was James Lloyd, from Montana, who picked the deer blind. The Third Prize winner was Floyd Robinson, who got the gas grill. Marlene Housler won the 50/50 drawing...way to go, girl!! Don’t spend it all on Alan! Kim & Judy Hamilton donated a basket of maple syrup products which was won by Gordon Mason. Our members of the year were recognized for their work and support of the Club, above and beyond the rest of us! Pat & Jim Johnson and Dale & Bonnie Pierce were voted Members of the Year for 2008. Dale and Bonnie can be found every month helping out at the breakfasts even when it’s not their turn. Bonnie helps Sandy in the kitchen all the time. Pat & Jim ran the trapshooting and the Early Bird euchre this year and they are always willing to step in and help. Congratulations to both couples and Thank You! Teamwork works well, right?! Our donations this year were: C&R Drilling, Kleen Gene’s Laundromats, Ringley’s Hardware, Cotton Brothers Construction, LLC., Boosters Euchre Club and 50/50, Evergreen Garage, Pete& Peggy Taylor, Gary & Lorraine Akin, Jerry Burger, Gene & Sue Blackledge, Dude Updyke, Fairchild & Green Realty, Mike & Nancy Green and William Wallace.

The Golf Outing turned out well also this year. Don Sladik reported that there were 116 golfers on a very rainy day but $3300.00 was raised for the Building Fund. Next year’s date is September 19, 2009.
